Sun, Friends, and a Very Good Idea
We’re lucky — we’ve got friends scattered across some of the most beautiful corners of France: the Dordogne, Languedoc, Provence. Summers often revolve around visiting them, drifting from one village to the next, chasing good lunches, quiet roads, and bottles you can’t find back home. It’s never rushed. Just long afternoons, local food, and whatever’s being poured at the table — usually from a nearby producer you’d never read about, but won’t forget.
It was on one of those trips — sun-drenched, wine-stained, full of good conversation — that we had the idea: why not bring a few of these bottles back with us? Not just to drink, but to share. And so the business began, almost by accident, with the wines we loved over lunch.

A Small Domaine with a Big Heart
All our wines come from smaller, independent producers — the kind of people who still walk their vines and care about what’s underfoot. One of them is Domaine Croix-Rousse in the Var region of Provence, run by Jean-Luc and Anne-Marie Husson.
They’re not just making wine — they’re living it. Everything they do is rooted in a respect for nature and the rhythm of the land. Working biodynamically, they’ve created something genuinely special: a small domaine that reflects the rugged character of the region, and a way of life that’s in step with the environment.
It’s a real labour of love — helped along by a small, passionate team — and the results speak for themselves. We’re proud to feature their third vintage in our store.

More than a Glass of Wine
We’ve always believed wine tastes better with friends.
That’s why we’ve put together a series of wine-focused experiences — not just to sip and swirl, but to explore why wine has brought people together for thousands of years.
Whether it’s a guided tasting with someone who really knows their stuff, a visit to a small grower you’d never find on your own, or a slow weekend built around good food, great bottles and the people who make them — each experience is designed to deepen the connection between you, the wine, and the story behind it.
Because for us, it’s never just about what’s in the glass — it’s about everything around it.

Now Stocked at Red Rocket Hut, Fowey
We’re proud to have our wines featured at Red Rocket Hut in Fowey, Cornwall — a small, beautifully curated space that shares our love for authentic living and meaningful connection.
Like us, they believe the best things are made with care, chosen with intention, and meant to be shared. Whether you’re picking up a bottle for dinner or just popping in for some cake based inspiration, it’s the kind of place that feels instantly familiar — and entirely its own.
Also worth noting: they do the best crab sandwiches we’ve ever had. Seriously.
If you’re in Fowey, drop by and say hello. You might just discover your next favourite bottle — and lunch.

Crayfish & Bubbles: A Perfect Match
There are few pleasures as simple — or as memorable — as fresh, wild-caught chalk stream Kennet crayfish. Ethically sourced and carefully prepared, these are quite possibly the finest crayfish in the UK.
They’re even better with a glass of ‘Zeus’ Méthode Traditionnelle — our sparkling Chenin Blanc from the Loire. Crisp, dry, and full of tiny bubbles, it lifts the sweetness of the crayfish beautifully.
A pairing that tastes like a celebration of land, water, and season — best enjoyed slowly.

Raising a Glass to the Thames
Home for us is Henley-on-Thames — a town shaped by the river that runs through it. Life here moves to the rhythm of the water: rowers at first light, long walks along the banks, and the quiet reminder that the Thames connects us all.
Because the river gives so much, we wanted to give something back. That’s why we donate £1 from every bottle to Friends of the Thames (Charity No: 1212696), supporting their mission to bring people together from source to sea and protect the quality of the water we all depend on.
Every bottle makes a difference — join us in supporting the Thames.
